how would i know if a ddr memory is compatible next to my pc? im planning on upgrading i want to be sure its alike

Depending on you motherboard make model etc I would consult the following sites nominated below to find memory that is compatible. I would also suggest you look at what is contained by you current system and try and math the make of DRAM chips is possible (not to exalted if you plan on replacing the memory completely!).
