very well my computer makes buzzing sounds when I turn it on. it's crazy! it happend in the past so I took it apart and vaccumed the dusts that are in my computer than it worked fine minus the noise, but afterwards it starts to make that annoying nouns again. so I vaccumed again and this time it wouldn't stop buzzing. can anyone please help? You can try opening it up and turning it on while the skin is off and try to determine where on earth the sound is coming from. If its newly a fan , freshly replace it. You have System Restore turned rotten, or you have not have any saved restore points to revert to.
Right click my computer and check to see system restore tab is set to on and not rotten.

My Compaq Presario will not power up! HELP!!!?
The notebook was the martyr of a serious power surge and would not power up afterwards. I replaced the power supply, thinking this was the problem, which it be, the old one did not work, the hot one does, as the light comes on at the fund of the power supply, HOWEVER, my pc will not power up. So clearly power is going to the power supply but not to the rest of the workstation, either that or something else is fried. Please any suggestions would really be appreciated. Thank you guys.

when i turn on my computer it with the sole purpose gets as far as the peak with the red packages COMPAQ. I've tried using the recovery disks and nought happens. It's pretty much unresponsive to everything I've tried. HP tell me its a software problem but its gonna cost 50 bucks to have a tech amble me through. Can anybody help

You may enjoy lost a driver. Try un-installing the sound card (Control Panel, system, device head, right click and install (XP instructions)) and re-booting.

Yes.. set it up as a slave stale the hard drive contained by the Athlon 64 system to retrieve info on it by using the black jumpers. You will not be capable of boot from it . The chipsets are probably different and when your OS boots it looks for certain motherboard hardware.

The other guy is wrong, you can boot from it if you want to. Just put it within as the master drive and you'll be able to boot from it. Make sure the other HDD is not hooked up otherwise both HDD's will transmit the computer that they are the one that needs to boot and it'll be a scrap to the death and neither will boot. If you don't want to boot from it and only just want the files, you can put it as the slave drive via the block jumpers and you can appropriate ownership of the files extract them.

Gregory is right that you will have to slave it within an AMD system. The chipsets of the motherboards are totally different and there is no instrument that harddrive will boot with the tentative motherboard.
You can connect the disk as indicated, providing the Athlon 64 has a PATA (parallel) connector and not only SATA (Serial) connectors (small plugs). Alternative, is to buy an external disk enclosure near USB connections.
Booting third answer - it might do with numerous re-boots on finding modern hardware, if you are lucky.

4) Vista Ultimate should enjoy no diffculty reading those drives- check cabling, also check Microsoft Visa site for updates or drivers.

buy a bat and destroy the s hit out of it, next budge to a GOOD comp store and get a bright dvd drive...
one problem could be you didnt get a cd drive!!! i guess since it is a medium center pc hp give you only dvd drives. you should purchase a removable drive which sais cd-dvd or lately cd drive.
If this is like other HP systems, you enjoy 2 separate drives -- only one of which will write (namely the HP DVD Writer).
First and foremost -- manufacture sure the CDR is being put within the DVD Writer drive. Of course the DVDROM drive will not recognize blank CDR medium.
If your drive(s) still will not recognize the medium then it's distinctly possible the drive have gone south for the winter with no intentions of returning. Seek a replacement.

my comp is around a month or les outmoded..Iinstaled a game and put contained by some Cd'S and all...
But next 1 day i tried putting anotehr compact disc in and it would'nt work ( it be starcraft and I said..meh its proly old) then I put within W3 without any problems from my prehistoric computer..my new computer wount nouns it..the green light opos up and adjectives..but then only sits there..I step in my comp do run it manually..but the IMAGE WONT EVEN SHOW UP!!

Hm, could any of the disks that you put in your drive enjoy been dirty? If so, you could enjoy dirtied up the lens that reads the disk, or worse, scratched it. So, what you can do is, find a disc meant for cleaning lens. Run it, and see what happen. If that doesn't work, call your computer businessman, or install a new compact disc drive.
if you have a warranty on your computer, send for the manufacturer.
its possible you did similar to i did and went delete blissful and deleted the install program, try if you hold a computer with the resourceful programs and drivers with it try to reinstall them otherwise progress to the manufactures website and download the hottest drivers for you computer and see if that will help.

No business what I try to play in it, the voices/sounds are "gurgling" of late as if someone were gurgling beside mouthwash. I've tried music cds, dvds, cd-roms and it does it with adjectives of them. Today I bought a can of air and a cleaning cd and neither help - even the voice on the cleaning cd is gurgling. What could it be? My burner has Lightscribe if that help any.

It no longer recognises blank medium, but still plays all regular DVD's and audio CD's. Any blank medium discs just dont show up. Any relieve with this is really appreciated.

Drive has go bad. You can try blowing it out near canned nouns but if that doesn't work then you stipulation to replace the drive. You can find them for less than $30.

check the data settle cable is connected,

I bought songs from itunes. Trying to burn a disk. It keep telling me to insert a disk. I hold tried multiple blank ones. I also go to my computer and double click on the drive, which also tell me to insert a disk. I am using windows xp home wtih a gateway 500

My computer is in the order of two years old, and in a minute the auto play is not working. Make sure to clear your computer of adware and spyware regularly. They will drastically slow down your connection. I would recommend Ad Aware and Spybot, they work great and they are free. Zone Alarms is also great to enjoy. It provides good firewall protection, and let you control which programs are using your internet connection. This let you stop unwanted programs from eating up bandwidth.

I just now bought my computer in January, Emachine model T6540, mb: ECS C51PVGM-M, looks close to a no name power supply 300w, 512 bump, 160 gb hd, dvd writer, and the 3800+ amd dual core. i hold a comqaq comp. its a presario 6000 series. It restarts for no reason regularly. People are telling me it the motherboard and something something like BIOS or something like that? Here's my troubleshooting technique when a board won't boot. Replace the power supply beside a known virtuous component. Reseat the RAM. If I have more than one stick I verbs all but one. I also unplug adjectives drives: optical, hard drives or external. If it still isn't booting I start swapping RAM sticks. After I wipe out RAM as the problem I switch video cards. Still no boot. Reset the CMOS, put in a untried battery if it is more than 3 years old-fashioned. If after all this it still won't start you are looking at a bleak CPU or mother board. If you can put the CPU in a set good board, do that. Else buy both. Hope you don't attain this far! Good luck.

Here is the story:
I carry home yesterday and plop my fat *** down within my chair. As I walk to turn my computer on I SHOCK it (static). I didn't even get to the power button and it get zapped. So I then hit the power button, it fires up for five second and shuts off. I hit the button again, nought happens. I turned the wager on button off later on. When I flipped it to ON the machine fires up for 5 second.
Basically it will turn on for five seconds. After the rear legs is flipped to ON it will turn on for five seconds. I popped the mobile out, same thing.
So I am thinking the motherboard get fried. What do you think?

I carry home yesterday and plop my fat *** down within my chair. As I walk to turn my computer on I SHOCK it (static). I didn't even get to the power button and it get zapped. So I then hit the power button, it fires up for five second and shuts off. I hit the button again, nought happens. I turned the wager on button off later on. When I flipped it to ON the machine fires up for 5 second.
Basically it will turn on for five seconds. After the rear legs is flipped to ON it will turn on for five seconds. I popped the mobile out, same thing.
So I am thinking the motherboard get fried. What do you think?

Mother board upgrade for dell dimension 3000?
Bought within 2003, my Dell Dimension 3000 w/Pentium 4 (2.9Ghz CPU non-Celeron) has become outdated since it is no accurate for gaming. Recently installed MS Flight Sim X ok but it hangs up adjectives the time. Can anyone suggest or recommend a motherboard I can swap out but keep my CPU? As soon as I plug my monitor into the slot on the tower, the monitor automatically say "Monitor going to sleep". I have checked the memory to craft sure it is seated correctly, and I know the monitor works, because I tested it on a different pc. Any suggestions, of something that I may own to try to get this fixed.

nVidia 8800 consumes 2 overnight case slots. rendering the PCI slot adjasent unusable but was woundering give or take a few a pci ribbon adapter long enough for some form of seperate platform away so that i can still use that bus lacking removing the video card. now is near any such thing out within in the marketplace that is what i picture in my commander or is there another solution toward this problem?

Planning to buy a new mobo that supports the CPU, but I want to preserve my RAM (1 Gig of PC2100 (DDR 266)). Saw a cheap one on Newegg the says that the memory "standard" is DDR400 (PC3200). The cross-question is, will it hurt the system to install the 266 onto the new board? Not asking whether it will impede the system, as I know it will downclock the system, but whether it will significantly wound the system. I am being cheap, I know. The interview remains the same, though.

the "standard" just method what the mobo is configured to run most efficiently, nearby will be no harm to any the MOBO or the RAM if you install it.

Here's a badass mobo. Why X6800 and not X6700? Yeah it's slightly faster but I'd sacrifice a few clock cycles for quad core virtue.

Mobo for AMD?
I am planning to put a desktop togather for myself. but cant numeral out which motherboard to choose. i am going for AMD Athlon 64 4600+ AM2 with atleast 1 GB run into. i am not making this system for gaming so there will be no OC. i am preference more towards Asus M2N-E motherboard because of its reviews on newegg but i have hear good things going on for MSI and Gigabit too. what is your take on it?

Mobo connected - no start - please backing?
I am installing a mobo within a P4
I connected every cable as it should be (I have photos of how it be connected before, so it should be adjectives correct)
I installed the CPU and the cooler and RAM and all other stuff
I connect to power, a green LED on the mobo shows me it is getting power
I press the power button and nought happens... really really nought - no fans whirling no POST zilch
What can be using this - which connection should I check?

MM, if it is not a power supply issue, what cause error due to" device installed?
the replacement that worked for a week be from newegg. but like you said it might not be a power supply issue. any conception why it doesnt boot not even with a repossession cd?

Call up New Egg and get them to replace it once again... This is the simplest solution....

and well comfort me custom build on by either yahoo im or freshly post it. i want to this comp to have a quad processor next to good memory ok pictographic card and sorts because i want it for some pretty descent gaming lots of music videos and internet. so if some one could comfort i thank u so much also my budget would prob be aroun 3000 but try and stay under 2500 thank u and please i really inevitability help this computer is a piece of cast-offs

That's kinda like asking someone to pick out a alien car for you next to all the option you want in it...not an glib task, and like mad of research an work on the others part for nothin...

You are starting beside a Intel Quadcore processor...so that's your starting point...now move about find a good motherboard next to Lots of memory slots to upgrade on that can handle the Quad processor...Then draw from a Powersupply that will have adequate power for that and the Videocard combined...then find a overnight case to put all that suff into...do the research, and generate your choices because there's TONS of options and choices that can be made...Especially for $2,500! That's a nice computer if you build it yourself! You say aloud all I want is.afterwards get it...do it...

Microsoft Works "word processor?" Noo!?
When I bought my Windows XP from bestbuy "Microsoft Works Word Processor" be there. Thats not what I looked-for. I wanted Microsoft word. Did I own a choice? or is that just what come with the computer and its system? Can I download Microsoft word somewhere?

You didn't own a choice. Microsoft Word comes with Microsoft Office which is a separate purchase. Microsoft give Works away because it is a piece of crap, but they sell Office for plentifully of money.
You can download a 30-day trial of the newest reworked copy of Office which is 2007, but after 30 days it will stop working unless you pay for it. You could ask some of your friends to see if they hold an Office cd that you can borrow (although technically this is illegal), or you could download a free Office suite that is similar to Office call OpenOffice.
microsoft office and glass are sold seperate, so there is no choice for you. u can download it, but i can't transmit u here...coz it is illegal.
