You stipulation to determine which socket type your motherboard currently has if you want to preserve your cpu. Most likely, your processor have a 478 socket. I would try a vendor similar to Newegg.com and look for a motherboard compatible with the Pentium 4, next to the 478 socket. I believe that Intel had 3 different socket types for the Pentium 4 platform. Start here to look whats out in attendance, and for cheaper prices or maybe even a used board, try Ebay for the exact model you are thinking roughly buying.

Dells uses motherboards designed for their systems. You may have compatibility issues next to the power supply, or case. As I build my own systems, I am not to up to date with exact compatibility. If the shield is a true ATX format with a standard ATX power supply, you should hold no issues.

When looking at motherboards, a key to what will work for you contained by addition to the Pentium 4 compatibility, will be the type of memory is stated is the standard. If it is duplicate as what you have, next it is most likely compatible next to your CPU. Then the only other issue would be wether or not it its compatible next to your case and power supply. IF you can, find a board next to the PCI-e graphic slot, as it will facilitate (somewhat) with adjectives upgradability. bad credit buy homes
