Motherboard?

Most motherboards should automatically switch to the new card. Older ones will stipulation to be changed in the BIOS.

Make sure to uninstall your behind the times video drivers before installing the contemporary card or you could have problems.
you requirement to disable the old nouns card, then you can install the latest one, and windows will pick it up close to a new drive
If you install another video card your notebook might detect it and choose that one automatically if not you stipulation to go to your bios and amendment it. you need to disable the built within video and activate your external video card. surrounded by your bios there should be a tab or a unit where it states what manner of video its using. you need to choose the one that say something like "pci vga" or something resembling that. I hope you know how to go into you bios and money it. just contained by case you don't know after you install the video card turn on your workstation and press "delete" or "f2" or whichever key it uses to run into your bios and find the section for your video. on a gateway workstation here at work its on tab advance and down to video configuration and when I press enter on it, it shows me "agp"(built in) video or "pci" of late an example to guide you. oh by the way you can do like thing for the audio if you needed to replace it.
You don't need to disable anything, once you plugged the video card surrounded by plug the monitor into it and the computer will automatically use it instead of the integrated.
