motherboard upgrade?

can i upgrade my motherboard beside out reinstalling windows? my chipset is a ULi M1695, dose that scrounging i have to stick beside it or can i change to other chipsets approaching sis or others? or i have to stick beside only uli?

if you hold an OEM version of Windows, you cannot upgrade your motherboard lacking buying a new license of Windows. Microsoft considers that a unmarked computer and will make you pay packet for it.
You can replace the motherboard without a reinstall, but more than plausible you'll have problems.



I've done it a couple of time as follows:

1) Back up your notes.

2) Make sure you do #1 and it's a good subsidise up.

3) Copy the device driver CD into a exotic location on the hard disk.

4) Go to Device Manager and remove adjectives of the system devices. (The system won't allow you to remove some of them.)

5) Shut down and replace the hardware.

6) Start windows and enjoy your OS CD primed. Windows should start finding all of the bright hardware and ask for drivers. When asking for them, point it to the location where you copied the driver disk to.



I prefer a fresh install, but when that can't be done, the above method works ok. It does make tracks some old stuff lying around that you may hold to clean up subsequently.
you can change to doesn`t matter what chipset is compatible with your processor type. that's not a desperate chipset why do you want to change?



sometimes window will be ok with a motherboard swing. as long as windows have the drivers there is usually no problem when swapping out boards. engender sure to have the compact disc handy.
