my amd dual core 4200 320 sata2 runs slow when multitasking why?

Most apps out nearby are not optimized to take supremacy of dual core chips, so if you are multi-tasking, you will find that both (or all) are running on just one processor. However, you can force an app to run on the second processor by assigning an affinity to it. Bring up your project manager, (right click taskbar), select the "Applications" tab, right click an app and click (and I'm going on memory here-I'm at work and don't hold access to a dual core machine to check) "Assign affinity"-will allow you to choose which processor to assign it to. This is especially caring if you are doing something like a full virus scan-assign the antivirus scanner to the second processor while you surf the network or edit photos.
