Mac OS X system here. I can succesfully duplicate DVD's near Disk Utility, but I can't figure out how to filch this material and stifle it in iMovie, or better even so Final Cut Pro HD. Please know that I'm new to this.
Mac users: How do I pinch (non-copywritten) DVD substance and verbs it to iMovie for editing?
Why did that later guy give you directions for a PC? Download HandBrake (which is free). It'll permit you rip the DVD into the format you choose. AVI or MPEG. Save it somewhere you can easily access (Desktop). From near, drag it into the clip pane on iMovie.
I'm not necessarily sure when it comes to Mac's. But for pc's you have to decrypt the DVD beside a software decrypter. This will place the files onto your computer unecrypted so you can use them in a editing environment. Although that one and only handles the decrypting. You still own to change it to a format you can use within your video editing program. I'm windows base but there are masses different techniques you can try. For a mac though I'm not really sure. But it will pause up being deeply similar IMO...With numerous programs being used contained by order to finally catch it to impornt in your video editing application.
I've read that it's a hassle to introduction DVDs to iMovie for editing but doable nonetheless. I suggest you go here http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa... and run a scrabble for 'import dvd for editing', without the ' '. You will achieve a list on how to introduction and which software you will need within order to introduction the footage from your DVD so you can edit and burn your project.
