I not long purchased my first MAC, a Macbook Pro. I'm still VERY new to the world of Mac. ;) I be wondering what would be the easiest and least expensive process to transfer home movies from VHS tape to my Mac to edit and subsequently burn on DVD.

You willl need a video seizure card, and since this is a laptop, I would go not beside a card but an external, either USB or Firewire. I can't recommend a product, in recent times ask your local apple store for a video capture device.
